San Francisco, what a great city! We start our weekend in S.F. at the University in Berkeley. Although it’s much younger than the Ivy League Universities on the East Coast, it is not less impressive. The atmosphere around the campus makes you wanna sign up for some summer classes.
We enjoy the beautiful weather down at the beach for a while before heading downtown and do some sightseeing. Although we’ve visited the city already years ago, we love to spend time at the wharf, walk down Lombard Street or have a great italian cappucino in Little Italy.
San Francisco is such a divers and hip place, there are so many different quarters just a stone’s throw away from each other. Friday & Saturday Night we head into Mission and enjoy some live music and have a drink with an old friend and former BMW colleague of Karina. He’s been living in S.F. for a couple of years now and works for a well known company in the Silicon Valley. We meet some of his work colleagues as well and get an interesting insight into Silicon Valleys work ethic and attitude.
Beeing on a Road Trip, big cities are always a challenge when it comes to finding a proper (and especially free) spot for the night. S.F. allows you to stay overnight at the Vista Point just across the Golden Gate Bridge. What we get there is a million dollar view from the back of our van.
Having heard so much about the Silicon Valley, we wanna check out this place ourselves. We drive further south to Palo Alto and Mountain View and visit the headquarters of some of the big names. Microsoft, Apple, Google, Facebook, YouTube, Tesla Motors and our BMW Technology Office.
